There are many opportunities for vendors, contractors, and consultants to do business with Leon County Public Schools. As one of the largest businesses in Leon County, the District purchases all types of supplies, materials, commodities, and services; as well as constructing and maintaining a large number of facilities. 

The School Board is committed to promoting and developing business relationships with a wide variety of businesses and ensuring that local small businesses have the chance to compete for a fair share of these opportunities. These opportunities are advertised in the

The Leon County Schools Purchasing Department is dedicated to the following ethical standards:

• To consider first the interest of the School District in all transactions and to carry out and believe in its established policies;

• To obey the letter and spirit of the laws governing the purchasing function and remain alert to the legal ramifications of purchasing decisions;

• To avoid the intent and appearance of unethical or compromising practices in relationship, actions and communications;

• To buy without prejudice, seeking to obtain the maximum ultimate value for each dollar of expenditure;

• To refrain from any private business or professional activity that may present a conflict of interest in carrying out the purchasing duties assigned by the School District;

• Maintaining fair and clear purchase and bid specifications;

• Answering all inquires promptly;

• Following up on deliveries and assisting, when appropriate, in the prompt payment of invoices;

Our Mission

The first and foremost mission of the Leon County Schools Purchasing Department is to support the education of the students in the District. This support is accomplished by the expeditious completion of the procurement process for products and services required by the schools and administrative departments of the District. 

The Purchasing Department is committed to the active pursuit and solicitation of maximum vendor response and participation in the acquisition of materials, supplies and services which meet the identified needs of schools and departments at the best possible price, giving due consideration to quality, program conformity and legal statutes on behalf of the Leon County School Board.
