RISK MANAGEMENT FACT SHEET

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW AND WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF YOU ARE INJURED ON THE JOB

HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
  • In case of a life threatening or major emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
  • Contact Risk Management and your supervisor as soon as possible.
  • For a non life threatening emergency, report your injury to your supervisor/department head and the Risk Management Department at 487-7113 or 487-7216 prior to seeking medical treatment.
  • If medical treatment is necessary, immediately go to the medical walk-in facility listed below:

  • To report the injury, to receive first aid information, to receive authorization for further treatment, for injuries that occur Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, follow the non emergency steps listed above. You will be instructed where to go for medical attention by the Risk Management Department.

For injuries that occur after hours, week-ends and holidays, obtain treatment at the hospital below or if it is an emergency, go to the nearest hospital. Also report this injury to Risk Management and your supervisor.

In either instance, you are required to come to the Risk Management office within 24 hours preceding the injury or as soon as possible thereafter to complete the required paperwork.
