Give your child a head start this school year. Make sure health insurance is on your back-to-school checklist. Children with health insurance, like Florida KidCare, miss fewer days of school. Florida KidCare is the state's health insurance program for uninsured children from birth through age 18, and applying is easy. Any family can apply and many pay $20 or less per month to insure their children. Most pay nothing at all. Through the Leon County Schools Florida KidCare Outreach Project, families can receive assistance with filling out the application and/or renewing their current coverage. The Outreach Specialist is also available to answer questions and provide technical assistance. If you need help with applying for Florida KidCare or if you have further questions, please call the Leon County School’s Outreach Specialist at (850) 414-5110. You may also apply online at www.floridakidcare.org or call 1-888-540-5437 for an application. |
