for Becoming a Substitute Teacher:
We are
delighted that you may be interested in applying for a Substitute Teacher
position with Leon County Schools. The information listed below will assist you,
if you decide to pursue substitute teaching.
The
educational requirement to be a Substitute Teacher in Leon County Schools is 60
hours of college credit (AA/AS degree equivalency).
In addition
to the above criteria, the following procedures must be fulfilled to be become a
Substitute Teacher.
6. Present original Drivers License and
Social Security card.

hours for applicants with a conferred degree majoring in Education and a completed
student internship; or verified professional teaching experience

20
hours for all other applicants
All of the
above requirements must be completed, before a Substitute Teacher Certificate is
approved and issued.
